I use old lemonade and coca cola bottles to water plants that need that bit extra. I drill a 1/8 inch hole in the top, cut off the bottom and fill the bottle part way with fine sand. (This can slow down the water feed to once every seven days once it settles in). Beach sand is great but soak it for a few days to remove as much salt as you can first. Bury the bottle deep enough to allow it still stand up when heavy with water. Up to he level of the sand shown here seems to be enough, and also gets the water further away from the surface where grass etc can get at it and compete with the plant. I bought a very large photo album which had large pockets in it, and now use it to store the papers I previously had trouble finding when a gadget needed repair or I could not remember a tradesman's name and address. With this album, the pages are detachable, and I could put everything in alphabetical order, but I don't bother, as turning the pages gives me a chance to remove anything out of date (e.g. gadget expired) or not really as necessary to keep as I thought.
Sometimes I don't use this book for a long time, and then it might solve several problems within one week.
It also has a page for tradesmen's business cards. Making boiled rice tastierSubmitted by Pennylee on 23 January, 2008 - 11:11.

Miscellaneous
I am speaking as someone who quite often finds instructions hard to follow, and who becomes really joyful when a new skill works. If anyone has trouble with creating hotlinks (hyperlinks) here is the way to go in numbered steps. 1. Use COPY to store the required full website address you want to recommend, into your mouse.
2. Now open up the box where you will make your REPLY or COMMENT. 3. Choose from your own imagination a word or two that seem to fit the website you want to share. For example: 4. Type in the words and HIGHLIGHT them. 5. You will see symbols on the top line. The first one is meant to be part of a chain - the link. Click on that chainlink, and it will bring up a box with a line for you to PASTE in the address which you have held in the mouse. 6 Click insert. 7 The words you have chosen to represent the site will be activated once you have posted your comment so that your readers can get to the recommended site with one click.
When you feel confident with that bit, you can offer an email site in much the same way - by putting mailto: in front of the email address offered. Hope I haven't missed out any important bits ! Penny Weed KillerSubmitted by Lucy on 28 February, 2008 - 11:50.

When shooting a moving object, capture it as it comes towards you, as your camera can focus more easily this way. If an object is travelling across your field of vision, follow the movement with the camera as you capture the shot. The object will be in focus and the remainder of the background will be pleasantly blurry. |
